I have known Sarah since 2008 when her family joined the same co-op that my family was a part of. I loved growing up with her family and they are, to this day, some of my closest friends. I had the honor of photographing both of her brothers for their senior portraits and I have loved seeing Sarah grow up and become more and more comfortable with me and my family!

When we did family photos last fall, this little guy was a little unsure about the whole picture taking thing. Not this time! He was all smiles and even remembered me! I asked if he was excited to take photos and he said, "yes!" Then I asked if he brought his smile with him and I got a great smile in reply :)
Sometimes things come about in strange ways. It's a really long story of how I came to meet Tessa's family and take her senior photos but it is the latest in a line of stories I have of fun ways clients and I have connected!
The rain-out was a blessing because we got a gorgeous evening! Josh was so wonderful to work with! His years of acting made him a complete natural at taking direction and he also has lots of experience being in front of the camera :)
A lot changes in one year!!! That's how long it's been since I've seen this sweet family. The baby is now the middle child and there is a new baby who I just now met at seven months! Her brother was seven months old when I met him! Time flies, for sure!
Look at those blue eyes!!! Aren't they gorgeous?
Evie is such a sweet baby. At six months, she is rolling over and playing with her feet and she is a happy, smiley baby. Something about the camera brings out her model face, though. She's smile at us when we were talking to her, but then for the camera, all seriousness. We still managed to get a few good smiles :) One of the things I love about milestone sessions like these are seeing how much the baby has grown and changed. It's amazing what three more months can do! I met little Evelyn just after she was born but I haven't seen her in a while. I got to experience her older brother at the wedding I photographed and I think she's going to have as great a smile as him!!
There is a quote by Dietrich Bonhoeffer that I like to share with all my friends who are getting married. He says, "It is not your love that sustains the marriage, but from now on, the marriage which sustains your love".
It's a quote that I think nicely summarizes what the vows spoken at the altar mean and it's that sentiment that David and Lindsay take so seriously. I have no doubt that they will weather all the storms of life just fine because they have a wonderful support system and they have their faith. I am so excited to see how their marriage shows Christ to the world! "He doesn't even drink coffee!"
This in response to my comment on how one of us was a morning person and it wasn't the women. A 6 am session would not have been my idea, but the light is gorgeous and makes it worth the early hour. Other than a few fishermen and a ton of Canadian geese, we had the area all to ourselves. For the beginning of July, it was actually a bit chilly! I was surprised. |
Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
