The Winter Months // When You Don't Have A Studio

I work solely in natural light right now, in the great outdoors. I love shooting outside. However, I live in the North where we have this thing called winter. No one really wants to be outside taking pictures and the cold isn't great for the camera either. This means that I have some slow months, because I don't have a studio. Unless someone has an indoor location in mind, or asks me to come to their house, it's hard to get shoots.

That doesn't mean I'm idle. I have been doing lots of education in photography. Amy & Jordan Demos are a husband & wife photography team who also educate photographers. I just finished my first run-through of their business course. Said course is the reason for my name change, this blog, (this whole site, actually), changes in my Instagram usage, and a whole host of other things. They asked that you go through the whole course before making significant changes, so now I'm going to go back through at a slower pace, doing everything I can at the moment to serve my clients better and give you a better experience.

An exciting thing that I'm just starting is to use PASS for image delivery. I just created an account, so I'm still learning to use it, but I think it's going to be very helpful for streamlining the image delivery process. Another thing I learned from Amy & Jordan that will help me better love & serve.

I love winter, but I do miss the opportunity to be taking pictures more regularly. One day, I'll have an indoor studio and then I can work outdoors, indoors, spring, summer, fall, and winter!
