While the weather might still feel like summer into September. in all other ways, summer is now over :( I am thrilled with how this summer went and August was a great way to end it!

Maybury State Park has a special place in my heart because it is one the first places I ever did a session! It was also the first session I did after starting Katelyn's Lighting & Location course and I was so excited to see how much better my photos looked after just a couple of lessons!!!!
McHattie Park might be small but it packs a huge variety into a close space. Located on the edge of South Lyon's downtown area, it brings the charm of old buildings along with giving you access to that small town feel of the downtown.
I don't like shoes.
For as long as I can remember, I have loved being barefoot. When I was little, I wouldn't wear socks in the winter, even thought my feet were freezing! I just didn't like my feet being restrained. I was barefoot and wearing flip-flops as early in the year as possible and held on as long as I could in the fall. Then, through a friend, I learned about barefoot shoes. Greenmead is smaller than Greenfield Village and bigger than Mill Race Village but is more accessible to the public than both.
I normally don't share things with you in these posts that I haven't personally used because I take recommendations seriously and how can I recommend something that I haven't actually used? Well, sometimes, I come across something that sounds so good I can't help but share about it! Today's product is one of those kinds of things.
Nestled in a little valley, Shiawasee Park feels intimate and secluded even while being right in the middle of Farmington.
Where did summer go?! And is it just me, or are summer's shrinking? I feel like school starts earlier every year and summer gets shorter. Whether it's all in my head or not, I'm feeling good about how I've spent this summer. How about you?
It's not often that you meet someone for the first time and discover that you actually have some shared history! I am also continually amazed by the mothers that I get to serve who are welcoming me into their home in the first week after having a new baby!

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
