 That rhyming title was accidental :) I hope you're remembering today while being with friends and family. There are seasons in life when family is especially emphasized as being so precious and important and I'm in one right now. Make sure you let the people who are important to you know and remind them often. Okay, I don't mean to make this too heavy. Let's get to what happened (and didn't happen) in the month of May!

 What should you incorporate into your senior portraits? Well, that depends on you! Today I'm offering you a BUNCH of ideas to jump-start your creativity. This list is not exhaustive but simply is meant to get you thinking. I'm also always available to talk through ideas with my seniors! Let's get the ideas flowing!
 Have you seen the job openings that require some-odd years of experience? It seems like almost any job I see that's not meant for high-schoolers requires experience. The question I always wonder is... where are they supposed to get that experience? Someone, somewhere has to be willing to train green recruits. And how many companies are missing out on great employees because they don't want to take the time to train people?
 So many wedding photographers dread family formal time. I get it. A wedding day is super creative and then family formals seem to kill that creativity. Plus, you don't have the time to be creative. It makes sense that it's the least favorite part of the day for so many wedding photographers. But as a portrait photographer, I LOVE large families because I feel like I can be very creative!
 It's funny how something seems so normal to you but then you start to realize that it really isn't normal at all! That is what's been happening to me as I realize my professional journey has been anything but normal!
 "She's so good with names!"
I could hear the surprise in their voice. I was working on a large family session and overheard this comment from one of the family members as I was directing people in and out of poses. Typically, when I do a large family session, I am meeting most of the individuals for the first time. However, I make it a priority to learn their names FAST!  At this point, my oddities should not surprise me :) I've always been somewhat strange and it has shown up in my photography business in what I like to do. Some of my favorite things to do or photograph are things that so many other photographers absolutely dread or strongly dislike doing.
 Tis the season for bridal showers and graduation season will soon be upon us. Birthday parties, anniversary parties, baby showers. Do you have an event that needs planned and/or dessert needs for your event that you've already planned? Look no further than Events By Anna!
 I've noticed something rather disturbing in the business world. It's gotten me thinking and I have a two-fold theory for why it's happening and what new business should do to avoid falling into the same pit.
 We all want to change the world. We want to have an impact, to do something meaningful with our lives, have a purpose. But what if our impact is not actually felt through us? What if we are here to encourage someone else?
