Well, I've mowed the lawn so it's officially spring :) The baseball season has started and we got off to an awful start but things have been going better lately. I do want to go to a game this year since it will be the last time I'll get to see Cabrera play.

The season of life that I'm in is one where a lot of my friends are getting married and starting families. While I do not have children, I have collected some resources that I think are very good for mothers-to-be, expecting moms, and new moms.
Who doesn't love getting letters? One of my favorite parts of Christmas time is that our mail is full of what I call "fun mail". Stuff we actually want to open! What about the rest of the year? If you would like to have something to look forward to in your mail, you will be very interested in The Flower Letters.
It was a senior session months in the making but we finally got Noah's senior portraits taken! I felt like this session was extra special because Noah moved right before his senior year. I can't even imagine what that must have been like, so to help him wrap up his high school career with photos that tie both schools together was an absolute privilege.
We shot at Lutheran High Westland, his school for most of his high school career, and near Nankin Mills, before going to Downtown Northville. While we incorporated his new school, most of his session focuses on the places that mean so much to him in the area where he really grew up. I've been seeing a lot of people asking for advice and recommendations for their websites in a group I belong to on Alignable. It made me think that there is a need for this sort of thing.
I'm not perfect at designing a website. I don't have formal training or anything, but I've learned about it from some high-level photographers and I have used many websites as a consumer so I'm going to share my collected thoughts and experience from life and those wiser than I am. It's story time! I'm sharing the story of one of my biggest goofs to date in my career. (Thankfully I haven't topped it yet!) Even though this happened years ago, I still remember it so well and all the emotions that went along with it.
The first year goes so fast and you've captured it in milestone sessions so the last thing we want is to let those precious memories sit on your computer. Many people think that nice photo albums are just for weddings. I'm here to tell you that they are not just for weddings and the first year of your child's life is a great thing to put in an album!
I know, I know, it's April and I'm talking about winter. But there wasn't a good time to post this until now!
When we had our big snow dump in January, I went outside and had fun with my camera. I didn't realize until I was out there that I had my 85mm lens on my camera body, but that was an added bonus! It's April and you know what that means...
EASTER!!!!! Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday are my two favorite church services of the entire year. I can't wait! There is also a lot of other great stuff to look forward to in April. |
Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
