I did something new this year. I made four "goals", which were kind of more like habits that I wanted to build. As the year comes to an end, I wanted to see how I did with those goals.

These last two months have been crazy busy. I don't know when life was last like this and it's not something I want to become normal. However, it has shown me things about myself and helped me learn.
I've been thinking about how my life works and what I like because of how I was raised and it seems like it comes down to rhythms versus routines. Until recently, I've never given this much thought but I'm trying to dig into why some things work for me and some things don't and the answers are not surprising but eye-opening.
I feel like I'm always searching for the perfect planner. I've used a lot of different ones and I'm going to share with you what I've liked and didn't like about each one!
I'm sure there are dozens (if not more) of blog posts and articles talking about journaling. What's one more? This is not an exhaustive post; I'm sure I'll miss a few benefits (feel free to mention any more in the comments!). So why write yet another blog post? Well, I've been journaling for about thirteen years and I thought maybe my experiences would be helpful to someone.
There are things I want to do but don't have time to do.
Actually, scratch that. There are things I want to do but don't make time to do. Those are very different things and learning the difference has greatly helped me actually do the things I want to do. I wrote a post about productivity a few days ago but I thought I'd go a little more in depth. I'm not a productivity guru by any means. I'm just trying to show another way of getting things done.
Maybe you have a great system in place already or maybe you've been trying things out and this might be just what you were looking for. I don't know. My current plan will probably change but it works for this season of life that I'm in. I've never been a goal setter. Maybe it's because my parents never did things like New Year's Resolutions, but I just never really thought about it. I had/ have dreams, but I thought those were my goals. I have since learned differently.

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
