That's quite the question! What motivates me to do... what? Run a business? Get out of bed in the morning? Bake way too many goodies? I guess I just need to decide what vein I'm going to take this and get on with it.

"What has gotten you through your hardest times in life?"
No one likes hard times and if you're anything like me, you don't even like remembering them, but they still happen. Hopefully, we all have things that help us through those seasons when they come. Legacy. It's something we crave as humans. It seems like most of history is people wanting to be remembered by the world, but what if we focused on how we are remembered by the people in our lives? Specifically our kids.
It's funny that this question came up as I'm reading a book about trusting. Good timing! Trust is hard to earn and easy to lose, but earning someone's trust is a precious thing.
"What do you consider the greatest accomplishment of your life?"
Maybe you're like me and you really haven't lived all that long. You might think you can't answer this question but just modify it to "so far" and tell us that! Do you ever feel like we complain a lot about our work? (Am I complaining by mentioning this? Wouldn't that be ironic?) While we shouldn't ignore the hard things, I want to encourage us to celebrate the good things too! So let's share our favorite and least favorite parts of our jobs!
People talk a lot about work/life balance, especially as working from home or hybrid work has become more common. I think most of us know that it is important but some of us are better at it than others. This week's question deals with that.
I almost laughed out loud when I read this question! Just one? I have a laundry list! Okay, okay, I'll pick one, but I'm still kind of cheating because I can tie a few of them into one sentence. Let's just say that my life has turned out almost NOTHING like I expected or planned. Can anyone else relate?
How do you want to be remembered? Accomplishments come in many shapes and sizes but what we do with our lives is often tied to how we are remembered. We often don't think about this until much later in life, when it can be too late to change things.
I don't think it's morbid to discuss this because in thinking about it, we can make decisions and changes to our lives right now. If we want to accomplish something and our current course won't help with that goal, now we know we need to make some changes. "Have you ever experienced a season of burnout? What did you learn?"
I think this is a very interesting question but also rather vague. Because I've certainly felt overwhelmed and stressed, but is that burnout? Is there just one definition or does burnout look different for different people? That's why this is a discussion! |
