November was not slower but it was busy in a better way because I got to see people! It was so refreshing and yes, a little crazy, but hopefully we will be getting a better balance now. This really was an excellent month. Bring on the snow!!!

I'm a journaler and kind of obsessed with chronicling memories. I highly encourage personal journals, but there are also some great resources for preserving the collective memories of your family.
I don't know about you but the Christmas season fills up fast and goes by even quicker! I'm still learning how to be intentional during this time of year, but one thing I've learned is that I have to say "no". There are so many good and fun things that we have the option to do but we can't do everything.
For the I-don't-even-know-what-number-year I am keeping a dedicated gratitude list in November. It's things that make me happy, that bless me, or that I am thankful for, big or small. I aim for at least one thing per day but some days I get more.
Did you know that creatives aren't endlessly creative? We go through seasons were we have a seemingly inexhaustible supply of ideas and other times it seems like we will never have another idea ever again :) It's the creative's version of writer's block and there are things that we can do to get out of it.
I'm quickly becoming addicted to barefoot shoes and part of that is the fault of the Jessie Sandal from Xero Shoes! I got these late in the summer and I am so glad that I did!
Our first family trip in a while was to Hocking Hills, Ohio. We were first told about this place a few years ago but then in the last six months or so it has com up a LOT and my parents decided that we needed to go see what all the fuss was about. Boy, was it all were were told and more!
Every November, I try to be super intentional about being thankful. This year I have done better at doing it throughout the year, thanks to an app and also a friend who is doing a gratitude journal with me. BUT, I still pull out my 1,000 Gifts book each November and write things down in it. I just feel like it is so important to have devoted time to thanking God for what He has given us.

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
