Honest confession - I haven't had photos taken of me since my senior year. Yeah, I know that's pretty bad. A goal of mine, for several years now, is to have images of myself taken in every season. Winter has been so hard because snow is rare and when it does come, it doesn't stay around long. We finally had a day with snow and both my friend and I were free! Never mind that it was about 17 degrees outside :)

I have a sticker on my computer top that says, "The best is yet to come!"
It's a nice sentiment and could help someone look forward and not stay stuck in the past. I don't recall exactly what it meant to me when I put it on there, but it means something to me. I liked it. Recently, I noticed a contradiction with another quote I have taped on my computer by the keyboard. Which one is right? Is it just me or does anyone else feel just a little melancholy on New Year's Eve? I don't really know why, but it could be because I don't really like change. (Although I'm way better now than I was as a child). Stepping into the unknown is not my comfort zone. The other side of that coin is that I look forward to a fresh start. 2019 has no sadness, no heartache, no challenges in it like 2018 does because 2019 is a clean slate for the moment.
Tuesday was one year to the day since my first blog post on this website. I can't believe how quickly the time has gone.
2018 was an interesting year for my business. I consider it kind of my first year actually pursuing photography. I guess we'll say Happy First Birthday, Sarah Jane Photography! It's a fluid date :) It snowed on Friday.
We were expected to get flurries. Yes, and then some. It didn't stick to the concrete but it did cling to the grass and trees. This was a thick, wet snow. I was THRILLED!!!! My favorite seasons are winter and summer. Really, winter is my favorite, because I'd rather be cold than hot, but summer has baseball and flip-flops/bare feet. I also don't like rain. So fall and spring are not much fun for me. BUT, I try not to complain (at least anywhere except my journal) and I try to find the best in things, so I challenged myself a couple years ago to find TEN things I liked about fall. Here's my (updated) list.
