I was looking through a fabulous gift guide that Rose Uncharted put together and stopped at these subscription boxes. I thought of my friend's son instantly when I saw what these particular boxes were and I love the overall concept! This is fun mail just for them AND it is educational at the same time! The homeschooler in me gets very excited about this sort of thing :)

Pancakes vs waffles is an old, heated debate. I think both are good (yes, I do have a favorite) but you can do a lot of fun things with pancakes. I have a lot of special memories tied around syrupy breakfast foods and one of my favorites is letter pancakes.
My mom likes to put up quotes and things around the house and a recent addition is entitled "12 Rules of Wisdom". It's light and cute, but like many things, there is actually a lot of truth to it.
We haven't gotten much snow this winter, or in several years actually, but when I was a kid, we had lots of snow and my brothers and I loved playing in it!!! We like to make snowmen (especially for our Grammy), we've made snow forts, and we like to eat snow too (only clean of course!). We've done a lot of different things over the years and while it is always fun to just play, there are a few ways to make snow extra special.
What was the first thing you collected? How old were you? There must be something in us that drives us to collect. I'm not a psychologist so I don't know what that is, but I am fascinated by it. I've had many collections over the years and they all have different meanings to me.
This surgery was never supposed to happen. I'd been lied to my whole life by my dentist. The whole experience made me less than happy but the actual surgery was a different story.
There is a stereotype that dads don't love the idea of photos. If there wasn't some truth to it, we wouldn't have the stereotype. Those don't come out of thin air. However, I want to make a case that photos with dad are some of the the most important photos a child can have. (You'll also get to travel through my quest to find my editing style :)
When it comes to styles, I do a pretty good job not comparing myself to others in my industry. I find myself instead being motivated to get to their level of work. I want to know how they do what they do. Most of the time it is inspiring and motivating to see what others are up to! The few times I catch myself in an envious thought I can shake myself out of it quickly and move on. I think that part of the reason is that there are things I can do to get to where they are and I want to be. Then there is something that I can do nothing about and that's where I can stumble.
When you're starting your own business, especially if you're starting off just you from your home, you often have more time than money and want to do things yourself. Expert help is expensive and I get that. I started out by figuring things out for myself and it ended up with some trouble. I want to save you that trouble.
I don't know what prompted me to want to do this list, since I've never done one before, but I am making a list of 21 things for 2021. It is a random list of things I'm looking forward to, things I'm wanting to accomplish, and things that bring me joy!

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
