My summer is not going how I planned but it's still been mostly good. One thing I'm learning in life is to hold my goals and plans loosely and be gracious to myself if some things don't happen.

Is it ever easy to make friends? Maybe for some, but even for the most outgoing person, I have to think that making friends as an adult is HARD!
I know this is not the normal content that I share on here, but baking and cooking are things that I do a lot and (for the most part) really enjoy, so you may see more posts in the future about this kind of things. Bread baking has certainly been a journey and I'm still learning (sourdough, I'm looking at you), but getting to where I am now motivates me to keep going with the process.
This is probably not going to be one of my most popular posts and that's okay, but for those who are interested, I hope you find it helpful! Relationship changes are one of the hardest parts of life. As we grow and change, people move in and out of our lives and it's hard to know how to handle things. We are not taught how to maintain important relationships once the person is not in our day to day life anymore. But the experience is different for those who leave and those who are left behind.
I have always been the one left behind, so most of what I'm going to offer is for others like me, but if you're the one who is leaving or has left, don't check out. This will give you insight into what your friend is going through AND I do have some advice for you as well. I got to be the photographer for VBS again this year. This is the second time I've done that and it's a unique way to experience the week for sure. You kind of float on the outside of what is going on and you get to see everything but you're not really participating. I don't normally do event photography but it's fun to do something different sometimes because it makes you use different skills and I feel like I am challenged as a photographer.
Who doesn't love gifts and free stuff? I know I do :) I am super excited about this new gift I have put together for you and I really think you're going to like it!
Are you getting photos printed? Hooray! I'm so glad to hear that! But did you know that it does matter where you get those precious images printed? If you want to be happy when you pick them up or open that package, here are a few dos and don'ts of printing photos.
I know that some people are shifting away from printing wallets of their senior photos for their grad party, (sadly), but many still do. However, it is also a detail that can sometimes be forgotten until the last minute. What do you do?
We have entered the second half of 2023! The first half has just flown by but I am really please with how it has gone. There are things I'd hoped to accomplish by now but something I am coming to realize is that there are always going to be more things. In a way, I think that is a good thing. We always have things we are reaching for and that gives us motivation and goals and dreams all of our lives. That's a great thing!

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
