And I wish outside looked like that!!! I'm calling January over because I won't be accomplishing all that much more in this last day :) But I feel really good with what I did get done this month! I had several goals for January and I got them all done, and then some!

Do you know someone who is an avid reader or a huge fan of a popular show? Jaye L. Knight is the author of the Ilyon Chronicles (an absolutely fantastic series!) and she is a big fangirl herself. She creates all kinds of fandom merchandise and it's frankly amazing!
This is the second year that I've started the year by deleting Instagram. Last year, I was burned out from 2020 and that month away was so refreshing. I came back with a plan for the year and implemented it fairly well. This year, I'm reevaluating that plan.
I'm coming to you today with an easy way to track your mileage for your business! If you have a business and need to track miles for tax purposes, AND if you use a planner for your events, then this tip is for you!
I love discovering new photo locations and am always up for places my clients have found, but sometimes a client doesn't have a location in mind and asks me for my suggestions! When that happens, I ask them what their vision is for their photos and then offer a recommendation. Typically, it will be off of this list.
We women are our own harshest critics, especially when it comes to how we look in photos. You've heard the phrase, "the camera adds 10 pounds", but the truth is, with just a few posing tips, you can avoid that!!!
Are you a rising senior? I'm sure you have some mixed emotions about your last year of high school. On the one hand, you're almost done!! On the other hand, you're almost done :( There are good, exciting things and sad things when it comes to your senior year, but there are a few ways to make sure your senior year doesn't just blow past you with no acknowledgement.
I don't typically share fiction books with you because I read SO MUCH OF IT! But last year I read a few new books that just blew me away and I have to share them with you! Also, if you are interested, I have a bookstagram account now (@tomeburrower) where I share more book reviews.
(You can click on the links to read my reviews on GR. Some reviews have spoilers but they will be hidden.) Almost any time you buy something these days, you get a follow up email asking for a review. I don't know about you, but I used to not put a huge priority on those emails. Now, as a small business owner, I know that reviews and client testimonies are HUGELY important. It took coming over to the entrepreneur side to understand but I want to encourage you that, yes, your words matter and leaving a review is not hard!
Some years I have trouble coming up with 10 really good books to share with you. There are times when the books I've read are fine, but nothing noteworthy and nothing I want to tell everyone to read. This year, I had 10 easy, plus a few honorable mentions. Without further ado, here are my top non-fiction books from 2021!

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
