I've done my share of babysitting and I've spent a lot of time with young children. As I got older, I have found kid books that I like and enjoy reading and many more that are torture to read. I know everyone will have their own preferences but today I want to give you a selection of books that kids love and won't drive adults completely crazy!

IT'S HERE! The Shoot & Share Photo Contest 2020. I was starting to lose hope that they would do this contest this year! It's starting three months later than it did last year, but last year was my first year so I don't exactly have a lot to compare it to. I can't wait for the voting part to start! It's so much fun!!!
"Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life".
I'm sure you've heard that phrase more than once in your over the course of your life. When we get to high school, there is a lot of pressure on us to know what we want to do for a career. What if we don't know? Or what if what we love is laying on the couch with our cat all day, listening to music, or playing video games? Sure, some lucky people get to make money playing video games and I know a guy who has people pay him to put listen to their music in the hopes that he'll like it and put it on his Spotify playlists. But most of us aren't that lucky. What are we to do? My style and tastes have certainly changed since I've become a photographer but some things have been constant. However, I never really knew what my style was. I once wanted to be an interior designer because then I could decorate houses in all the styles and there are things I appreciate and like about each one. As I got older, it became clear that I liked things that were more classic and had more character than the more modern styles. Still, I didn't have a definite name for what I liked.
(By the way, this photo isn't really a representation of what my style is, but I do love how bright it is, the storage, the large window, and the map on the wall :) I have a surprise for you!!! It's a brand-new guide to help you take better photos of your family, kids, and life!!! All the exclamation marks mean I'm REALLY excited :) It's a simple, 8-page guide that will help you whether you have a DSLR that you barely use or you just use your phone. I'll dive into the details a little more as we go on.
Most times, I'd pick reading over watching something, but I do enjoy a good movie from time to time. I've arrived at my favorites list by realizing what I instinctively go to when I'm not sure exactly what I want to watch, but feel like a movie.
This might be my favorite non-chocolate dessert. At least my favorite non-chocolate cake :) It's lemon-y, moist (from the pudding), and utterly delicious. The challenge every time I make it is to balance letting it cool long enough in the pan but not so long that it sticks. Of course, it helps to have the right amount of grease on the pan as well. All of it is experience and balance. There aren't measurements or exacts to every part of baking.
Professional photography is pretty much not happening right now. Some are doing backyard or front porch sessions, where they can keep their distance, but many beloved sessions cannot happen like they should. I'm mostly thinking newborn and children sessions. Babies are still being born and kids are still having birthdays and growing. I wish I could capture these memories for you but since I can't, I'm going to help you do the best you can at home!!!
It looks very different but Jesus is still alive! He's still risen, still sitting at the right hand of the Father, still sovereign over all. He still loves us and is with us. He is still faithful and trustworthy and true. He never changes. Easter might be different but Jesus is not.
Happy Easter!! People can find unique ways around hard situations. Roadblocks bring out our creativity. And challenges bring people together. I've seen a few examples of this so far in quarantine.

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you!
