This is the photo session that very nearly didn't happen! With three children out of state, a new baby ready to come any day, plus the ever-present factor of covid, it was down to the wire but I am so happy for Mark & Esther that it happened! Almost all their children and grandchildren together in one place. I'm sure they've been looking forward to it all year.

*deep breath in and long breath out*
I hesitate to say this has been the worst year of my life because I've said that multiple times before. I also hesitate to say it because, for all of the struggles, and there have been many, I've also experienced some very wonderful things that I would not want to give back. Reflecting on the year gone by is something I do carefully but I also think it's important. I want to see the lessons learned, mourn what needs to be mourned, and celebrate the blessings I received. When we were little, we got multiple ornaments every Christmas. The number is reduced now, but ornaments are a special marker of time. Hallmark makes great ornaments (many of my favorites are Hallmark) but you can also get some personal or more unique ornaments if you know where to look.
One of my dreams for this business is to have my clients become more than clients but to become friends. I definitely feel like Dawson and KC have gotten into the friend category! I am so honored to be celebrating the arrival of baby Rhys with them! He is absolutely precious; such a tiny little peanut :) I know Graham is going to be a wonderful big brother!
If you want to get a jump start on next year's Christmas list or are looking for unique gifts for other occasions, I've rounded up some of my favorite personal gifts that also support small businesses and entrepreneurs!!
I'm not a mother but I know about the mommy wars and it's so sad. When you boil it down, it's simply another comparison trap. I believe things can and should be different and I don't want to see us add another element to this battle.
This is something a little bit different!!! I think by now we all are well aware of the fact that I love to read :) One of my all-time favorite series is The Chronicles of Narnia. I wasn't actually tagged to participate in this but I saw it on my friend Liesl's blog and since I love the Narnia series, I decided I needed to do it myself!
I had big expectations for this year. I think everyone did. "2020", clear vision, sight... there was so much packed into four numbers. Instead, this has been one of the hardest years of my life so far. Still, I've gotten to see blessings and I've learned some things as a result of the events that were 2020.
I set myself the goal of reading 20 books off of my "to-read" shelf, the physical one and the one on Goodreads. At this time, I have two more to go and I think I'll get there since I'm in the middle of two right now :)

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
