With the whirlwind that was moving, March went by almost as fast as February. Spring is definitely here. It's a dreary, rainy day as I write this and I'm trying to compensate with my salt lamp and a candle. Sometimes I can't even open my shades on rainy days. Spring, with its rainy days, are much harder on me than winter will ever be. But you're here to see how March went, not hear about the weather :)

I hope you're not getting tired of me talking about moving. It's been a huge, consuming part of my life and I'm still processing it. Obviously I've only ever done a slow, local move but I have been thinking of the pros and cons of moving that way.
I have missed candles. Essential oil diffusers are great, but there is something about a flame. The ambiance. It can't be replaced. We stopped using candles years ago because most regular candles are - unfortunately - not good for you and we are trying to remove toxins from our home. I miss the scents and the look of candles. But now I have candles again!!!
And I've moved!!!! It's times like these that show me just how much support we have. 30 people. That's how many came to help us. It's amazing. This is going to be a longish post, with lots of photos, so hang tight!
So you have gotten beautiful photos taken of your family/child/senior. You post some online to your socials, maybe print a few 5x7s for grandparents or put a photo or two on graduation invites. Then what? What happens to the rest of the photos? We don't want them sitting on a hard drive forever but getting prints and products is a hassle, right? It doesn't have to be!
Family is a precious gift. I have so many great memories with my family and I love looking through photos of us through the years. I love working with families because their interaction is so much fun! I get to photograph the joy and love families have for one another and it is the best!
I've always loved working with little kids since I can remember. That is one thing that drew me to portrait and family photography! I love capturing their personalities and seeing the way they view the world. It's the greatest joy. So what makes a children's session special? Why might you want one? Is it right for you?
The class of 2022 is in the homestretch of their senior year and we are looking towards the class of 2023! Is that crazy to anyone else?!
Your senior photo experience should be one of the highlights of your senior year and a huge part of that is making sure you "click" with your photographer (pun only sort of intended). You need to work with someone you like and trust and, to help you know if I'm the right person for you, I'm going to walk you through what you can expect from me if we work together for your senior photos! I'm starting a mini-series on what to expect at each of my sessions! If you've never worked with a professional photographer before, knowing what to expect can help make the experience more enjoyable. Even if you have worked with one before, maybe my way of doing things is different! Whatever your experience level, I hope this series gives some helpful insights into what you can expect when working with me! We are starting off with precious newborns, since I just did a session recently and they are on the brain :)
I have been using the same pair of work boots for probably a dozen or more years. They are actually my brothers' old boots that they wore when they were about 10 years old. It's quite amazing they have lasted this long and quite hilarious that I still wear them. Yes, they tease me about my small feet. But the boots are wearing out so it was time for something new.

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
