"He doesn't even drink coffee!" This in response to my comment on how one of us was a morning person and it wasn't the women. A 6 am session would not have been my idea, but the light is gorgeous and makes it worth the early hour. Other than a few fishermen and a ton of Canadian geese, we had the area all to ourselves. For the beginning of July, it was actually a bit chilly! I was surprised. My family has known Lindsay's family for years. When I started high school, she was just graduating, but we overlapped for the summer and she was so nice and welcoming to me. She was one of three older girls who I really looked up to as I started high school.
Her brother was one of my youth leaders, but I really didn't do much with her until about two years ago when we started doing young adult stuff together. She's such a sweet young woman and I was very honored when she asked if I would do her engagement pictures. David just joined our church a few years ago. He'd sit with our family during Advent and Lent dinners. He's an engineer so he and my dad like to talk. We discovered he did a bit of blacksmithing and he loaned my brother an anvil and forge. He dabbles in photography and I borrowed a 50mm lens to try out before I bought mine. The guys does EVERYTHING!! I still remember my grandpa saying one time, "I think David is interested in Lindsay" and my mom telling him not to go around saying stuff like that to everybody. I guess he was right though :) As we were moving from one location to another, I asked if there was any one pose that we had done that they had particularly loved. David said, "any with Lindsay in them." I laughed, but it really was such a sweet comment and when you see these photos, you can see how much these two love each other. David and Lindsay, despite the early hour, I had a wonderful time taking these pictures for you. You guys were fantastic to work with and did such a great job, even with my questionable directing skills!!! There was lots of laughter, usually at something David said :) God's blessings to you as you get ready to start your life together!
