Washing and doing your child's hair is about so much more than just washing and doing hair. It's an intimate bonding experience between the parent/caregiver and the child. But many people with foster/adopted kids or blended families don't know how to work with hair that is very different from their own and are forced to outsource this intimate experience to others. That is where Cultivate Love comes in.

A few years ago my family got a family edition of The Adventure Challenge. We didn't get started on it until recently and it's been so fun! We use it for our family night activity and it's a good change from movies or games. (Not that we don't like those, but something different is nice).
I try not to do too much dreaming about "my house" because I want to live presently, but there are some things that I know are must-haves if/when I ever have my own place. These are things I've grown up with and have been a huge benefit to my life, so I know I want them to be a part of my life on my own as well.
I found a new resource this year on Instagram. I don't know how exactly I stumbled upon it, but I am super excited about Good Book Mom! It is getting harder and harder to know what is good for kids to read, so to have a resource like this, geared towards kids ages 0-12, is amazing!
I'm a journaler and kind of obsessed with chronicling memories. I highly encourage personal journals, but there are also some great resources for preserving the collective memories of your family.
I'm quickly becoming addicted to barefoot shoes and part of that is the fault of the Jessie Sandal from Xero Shoes! I got these late in the summer and I am so glad that I did!
Usually these posts are about companies and products I have actually used and, obviously, I'm not a mom, so why am I sharing about a diaper company? Because this is one of the most amazing companies I've discovered in a long time and I just can't NOT share them with you! Seriously, I am blown away by them.
I don't like shoes.
For as long as I can remember, I have loved being barefoot. When I was little, I wouldn't wear socks in the winter, even thought my feet were freezing! I just didn't like my feet being restrained. I was barefoot and wearing flip-flops as early in the year as possible and held on as long as I could in the fall. Then, through a friend, I learned about barefoot shoes. I normally don't share things with you in these posts that I haven't personally used because I take recommendations seriously and how can I recommend something that I haven't actually used? Well, sometimes, I come across something that sounds so good I can't help but share about it! Today's product is one of those kinds of things.
I've told you about The Anastasia Co. before and how much I love the intentional, encouraging, and uplifting products that they sell. Today I am going to SHOW you some examples by sharing a few of my favorite products.

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
