One thing that is so important to every business is reviews. People want to know that someone like them has interacted with a business and had a good experience. This is especially true with smaller and newer businesses. I am excited to announce an easy way for my clients to leave their thoughts on their experience with me!

Mini sessions come in MANY different forms! I know photographers who do elaborate studio setups for every major holiday, others who do simple minis outdoors, and everything in between!! There is a mini session offering for every kind of desire and I love that! Photographers can do what they love without having to be everything to everyone! I am more on the side of doing simple setups or outdoors and focusing on creating candid photos of your love and joy as a family. But no matter what style you're looking for, there are a few things that factor in to why people might prefer booking a mini session.
Do you ever get discouraged by waiting? I know I do. Prayer is one of the ultimate forms of waiting and when you pray for something over a long period of time, it can get discouraging to keep going. It's hard to keep asking for things when you see no progress. Can anyone relate?
If you were to come and see the behind the scenes of my business, it would probably make your head spin! I describe my approach as "MacGyver-ing it". I search for anything that will help me do whatever my end goal is and I figure out how to put them together to make it work. What this means practically is that I use a LOT of apps and programs but there are a few staples that I could not live without.
The flowers will start peeking out soon and that means it's time to start thinking about getting outside!!!! While I love winter, I do miss shooting outdoors and I am so excited to announce that I am now booking for spring mini sessions!!!
How many times have you tried to get a nice family photo, only to look back and see that bright rubber bracelet on someone's wrist and pens in your uncle's shirt pocket? It's so frustrating to have a lovely photo marred by something that would have been easy to fix. A quick check before the photo will solve this issue.
Does anyone else think we should be able to smash cake when we are old enough to remember it? I think we need to make an older birthday a cake smash birthday too :) But while we wait on that idea to take hold, let's talk about how to make your one-year-old's cake smash a success!!
If you have little kids or your kids are home a lot more now, it might be hard to do the things you're used to doing each day. But kids don't have to get in the way, in fact, it's good for them and you if they are included in the daily routines!!!
I don't know about you but I think we all need more celebration in our lives. Did you know that there are multiple things to celebrate every single day and that people have complied them into lists? I did know it in theory, but I never put in the time to do anything with the knowledge. That is going to change.
I had someone ask me once what a normal week looked like for me. That is an interesting questions because I don't have "normal weeks"! However, I do have tasks and things that I get done on certain days, no matter what else I'm doing. The main thing is, if they don't get done the day they're "supposed to", I just do them another day!
By the way, my work space is not nearly that clean and minimalist and white :) |
Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
