I met little Evelyn just after she was born but I haven't seen her in a while. I got to experience her older brother at the wedding I photographed and I think she's going to have as great a smile as him!! Despite my directions lying to me, I got to their house on time and was pleased to find that they have multiple floor length windows!!! A natural light photographers dream!!! It was a cloudy day, so the light was nice and diffused and I could just set up by the window and was pretty much good to go.
Evelyn would smile so big when I talked to her and smiled at her. The big black camera was new to her, so I had to work quick before the smile disappeared. Mom and Grandma also got her smile a lot. We tried a few pictures of her with big brother, but that might have to wait until she gets a little bit older. Grandma was a champion backdrop holder; she came over just to be another set of hands which I so appreciated!! The blankets used were all handmade by friends and family. I love getting to use props like that in the photos. It makes the picture that much more special and can connect generations. Her first outfit was her mothers and one blanket in particular was made by a grandma who is no longer with us. I think those little touches make a sweet photo all the more precious.
