I've typically heard of generational trends in a negative light. Things like histories of addiction or divorce or other medical problems. But are there good generational trends? I think there can be and my family has several.
How and what should we pray for our work?
As a Christian who owns a business, I get caught up in the idea sometimes that there is "God work" and then there is "my work" but really, all work should be for God because all work is from God. Jordan Raynor's books have been instrumental with helping me understand work in a healthy way and prompted me to write a prayer for work that anyone can pray because it doesn't apply to photographers or entrepreneurs or females. It's for anyone who works and that is all of us. I've always resisted change. I used to absolutely LOATHE it when I was a child, and while I've gotten much better, I still don't like it. Opportunities equal change and, for me, that means opportunities can be scary. I've been reflecting on opportunities lately so I thought I should blog about it.
I really like lighthouses. I live in Michigan and there's probably a law that says you have to like them if you life here, but I like them anyway. I've grown in my appreciation of them as I've grown up but there was one thing that really made me latch on to lighthouses.
This might be the longest I've felt stuck, creatively. I'm living life and doing fun things and I just feel like I have nothing to offer the community that reads this blog. So I'm showing up to tell you that I've got nothing. I'm sure you'll want to keep reading after that, right?
Where to begin?!
After my older cousin's Cooperstown trip being cancelled (#2020), I was understandably bummed at the thought that I might not get to go with this cousin. It looked dicey for a time but in the end I got to go and it was an amazing trip! Have you seen the job openings that require some-odd years of experience? It seems like almost any job I see that's not meant for high-schoolers requires experience. The question I always wonder is... where are they supposed to get that experience? Someone, somewhere has to be willing to train green recruits. And how many companies are missing out on great employees because they don't want to take the time to train people?
And I wish outside looked like that!!! I'm calling January over because I won't be accomplishing all that much more in this last day :) But I feel really good with what I did get done this month! I had several goals for January and I got them all done, and then some!
This year I took all of January off of social media (which for me means Instagram) and it was the best!!!! I did miss a few of my friends' accounts, especially the one who was renovating an old house, but overall, it was so refreshing and I kind of didn't want to go back :) Just being honest. I am planning to do the same thing in 2022 and want to challenge you to do it with me!

I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you!
