I don't like shoes. For as long as I can remember, I have loved being barefoot. When I was little, I wouldn't wear socks in the winter, even thought my feet were freezing! I just didn't like my feet being restrained. I was barefoot and wearing flip-flops as early in the year as possible and held on as long as I could in the fall. Then, through a friend, I learned about barefoot shoes. Apparently, our shoes aren't actually made for human feet. Their shape changes the natural movement of our feet as we walk and that affects our posture and a whole host of other things.* When my friends started sharing about these shoes she had gotten, I was intrigued.
I don't remember how exactly I found out about Anya (probably from my friend) but I love her site for how simple it makes the process of getting into barefoot shoes. Many brands are overseas and the sizing is often in foreign units but Anya's Reviews make it simpler. She has roundups of the best shoes for different uses and occasions. So far, I have used her site and reviews to get a pair of work boots and "tennis shoes". My next purchases will be sandals and ballet flats. It's a slow process because, unfortunately, barefoot shoes can be quite expensive. But I am loving having shoes that are the closest thing to being barefoot when I can't be actually barefoot! If you're interested in barefoot shoes and all things feet, you will love Anya's Reviews. She has so many resources and great information from her years of research and experience. What about you? Are you someone who likes to have free feet? Have you ever tried barefoot shoes? *I'm not a doctor or podiatrist. This is just the research I've come across. Everyone has to decide for themselves.
