Maybury State Park has a special place in my heart because it is one the first places I ever did a session! It was also the first session I did after starting Katelyn's Lighting & Location course and I was so excited to see how much better my photos looked after just a couple of lessons!!!! The day that I went to take these photos, it was cool, overcast, and there was a slight breeze. It was so quiet and peaceful and I loved it! Of course, the sun came out as soon as I left, but you can see what sunshine looks like in some of my example posts. It's pretty on cloudy days but the trees really filter light very well on sunny days. And just imagine what fall colors look like here!
I love the wide open fields and the paths through the grasses. This location is great if you want walking and epic shots. The deer also leave lots of flat spaces in the tall grass which makes it easier to do sitting shots and even ones where it looks like you're in the middle of a field of grass, without actually tramping through super tall grass :) Recommended For: Family and Senior Portraits A few sessions I've done at Maybury: Graham is One! Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
