Is it just me or does anyone else feel just a little melancholy on New Year's Eve? I don't really know why, but it could be because I don't really like change. (Although I'm way better now than I was as a child). Stepping into the unknown is not my comfort zone. The other side of that coin is that I look forward to a fresh start. 2019 has no sadness, no heartache, no challenges in it like 2018 does because 2019 is a clean slate for the moment. I just came off a whirlwind week where I had four Christmas celebrations, went batting twice, prepped for and shot a wedding... it was a lot but it was fun. The wedding went much better and smoother than I expected since I've only shot one other wedding so I'm not a pro at it. The funniest thing was how I felt the next day. My feet did not hurt as much as I thought (based on how they felt at the end of the day) and I wasn't tired really but my brain felt foggy. My friend who is more experienced wedding photographer said that is completely normal.
Exciting news!! I finally have Lightroom!!!! It's going to make editing all of my clients' lovely photos much easier and faster. I've done limited tinkering with it already (busy week, remember?) but now I've got to get going on editing this wedding, so I'll have lots to work with to learn the program. Getting back to the end of the year, there has been lots of really awesome stuff that happened. As I think about it, a lot has been just this fall. From going to concerts that I've been wanting to see for years, to becoming a godmother, to my brother's senior year on his baseball team and them winning the championship, I have a lot of good memories. What's one great memory for you from 2018?

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
