You might do a newborn session and a one-year session, but what about all the months in between? Babies grow SO. FAST. in the first year and you don't want to miss a moment of it or forget how small and precious they were back in those early months. One of the most special mementos is a frame that holds a photo from each month in the first year so that you - and eventually your child - can see the growth that happened! So how can you make this special just at your home? I have a few ideas for you :) Milestone Blankets - These come in just about any style you can imagine and they are so clever! I just love them! Do a quick search on Esty or Pinterest and you'll see ALL the options available. No matter your baby's nursery color scheme or your personal style, there is the perfect milestone blanket for you. I have a few on my Baby Things and Newborn Pinterest boards if you want a place to start.
Blocks - Do you have letter and number blocks? Spell out their name and age or just their age with the blocks! Use what you have or you can get cute ones that are for this express purpose. (Again, I have some examples on my Pinterest boards). Letter board/Chalk board - My favorite thing about the letter board is that you can change the background each month or use the blanket great-grandma knitted! (You can do that with blocks too, but there are a few more moving parts with blocks). If you are of an artistic bent, you can use a chalk board and really decorate to match your little one or the seasons/holidays each month. The possibilities are endless, really! What have you seen done for monthly milestone photos at home? What are you planning to do for your baby? I love seeing how creative people are with this!! You May Also Like

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
