We have entered the second half of 2023! The first half has just flown by but I am really please with how it has gone. There are things I'd hoped to accomplish by now but something I am coming to realize is that there are always going to be more things. In a way, I think that is a good thing. We always have things we are reaching for and that gives us motivation and goals and dreams all of our lives. That's a great thing!

The heat has appeared like THAT! I may feel like I'm melting but I'm getting a great tan, so I'm happy about that development. I can't believe it is already June but this is going to be a great summer and I am so excited for the things that are ahead. I love having things to look forward to :)
Did I miss spring? It feels like we skipped right to summer. I got whiplash from the abrupt weather shift. I'm loving the beautiful magnolias, lilacs, and cherry (?) trees that are blooming. It's fun to watch spring kind of suddenly appear as the trees start budding. I like how things come out at different times.
It's April and you know what that means...
EASTER!!!!! Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday are my two favorite church services of the entire year. I can't wait! There is also a lot of other great stuff to look forward to in April. I think I need to start letting go of winter. Spring is coming and I need to accept that. I wonder if it would be easier to greet spring if we actually had decent winters where I live. But I don't want to complain. Here I come, March!
Happy Feburary! This is going to be a fun month. My brother and I both have special birthdays this year, I'm planning a fun party, I'm excited to send valentines to my friends, and I hoping we'll get some more snow. (A girl can dream!)
IT'S HERE!
2023. Man, does that look weird to anyone else? I feel like the last five years have flown by but also seem like ten years at the same time. 2018 seems like a life-time ago, but I also remember some events like they just happened. I have some hopes and dreams for things that I'd like to do this year, but I've learned to hold such plans very, very loosely. One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp is one of my favorite devotionals of all time. I'm an overall positive person but giving thanks? That can be hard. And giving thanks in the hard? Almost impossible. Each November, I make a concentrated effort to give thanks. To look and see the blessings that are always around but I don't always notice. Will you join me?
My hands-down favorite thing about fall is the light. It's just incredible. Other favorite things are that it is getting cold, the bugs are dying/going away (!!!!), pumpkin treats, and I get to start pulling out my winter clothes. Oh, and I do love the windy days that are so prevalent in the fall.
I feel like I'm getting whiplash. Where did summer go? This year, though, I'm satisfied that I made the most of my summer, rather than just letting it pass me by. It's time to dive into another school year, whether we are in school or not, and I've got a full September!
