What are things you loved doing as a child? Things that brought you joy. When did you stop doing those things? Do you think you're "too old" to do them? I say there are things that you're never too old to do and they are things your kids will love that you do with them! Here are seven things you're never too old to do and are fun to do with your kids.

The weather is getting more like spring in Michigan and that means we can spend more time outside. As a homeschooler, I am used to everything being a means to learn, even taking walks. I remember a fun workshop we did in my co-op where we went on a walk with lists of things to find and it was a contest to see which team of kids could find the most items on the list! But this is an easy activity you can do at home with your own kids.
Does anyone else think we should be able to smash cake when we are old enough to remember it? I think we need to make an older birthday a cake smash birthday too :) But while we wait on that idea to take hold, let's talk about how to make your one-year-old's cake smash a success!!
If you have little kids or your kids are home a lot more now, it might be hard to do the things you're used to doing each day. But kids don't have to get in the way, in fact, it's good for them and you if they are included in the daily routines!!!
Reading is such an important skill for kids AND it keeps them quite for a bit. Win win :) We all know that kids love to have something that is "theirs" and a cozy reading corner will interest even reluctant readers!
I was looking through a fabulous gift guide that Rose Uncharted put together and stopped at these subscription boxes. I thought of my friend's son instantly when I saw what these particular boxes were and I love the overall concept! This is fun mail just for them AND it is educational at the same time! The homeschooler in me gets very excited about this sort of thing :)
Sometimes little kids are a bit shy and a photo session can be overwhelming. If you think your child might be hesitant to get their picture taken, there are a few things you can do ahead of time that can help them feel more comfortable and confident.
Have your kids ever complained that they were bored and had nothing to play with? I know a mom who came up with a genius idea to help keep her littlest kids entertained while she helped her older kids with school. If you're not a homeschooler and just have little kids at home and need a way to keep them occupied for an hour or two at a time, I'm going to share this mom's genius hack with you today!!
I love meeting new clients but I also love getting to work with little kids I already know and love!! I've missed these girls so much over the past four months and I was thrilled to be able to take their birthday photos!!
Yes, we did these the same day as Maggie's senior photos because these are her darling nieces!!! I was SO amazed by these girls! They did such a great job! We let "Aunt Mugga" go first so that they could see what a session was like but they've also done photos before. Hazel is the younger one and she can be slow to warm up but when she has her sister and her aunt around, she is so much better!!! I've done my share of babysitting and I've spent a lot of time with young children. As I got older, I have found kid books that I like and enjoy reading and many more that are torture to read. I know everyone will have their own preferences but today I want to give you a selection of books that kids love and won't drive adults completely crazy!

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
