*deep breath in and long breath out* I hesitate to say this has been the worst year of my life because I've said that multiple times before. I also hesitate to say it because, for all of the struggles, and there have been many, I've also experienced some very wonderful things that I would not want to give back. Reflecting on the year gone by is something I do carefully but I also think it's important. I want to see the lessons learned, mourn what needs to be mourned, and celebrate the blessings I received. The year was broken into two parts: January & February and everything else. While "Earth was closed", I worked hard on the things in business that get left behind when life is busy. I have poured myself into education this year, finishing the KJ Business Collection and starting the KJ Consistency Course, along with some webinars on various aspects of business. I'm pretty sure I've done a shout out to my friend Nathan before but he helped me out this summer with some marketing tips and ways to build my business. I had a Pinterest presence before, but he really helped me understand Pinterest better and step up my game, among other things. I still go to him sometimes for questions and I share my wins with him because he understands more than most what I've done to get there. Personally, I learned an interesting lesson about community and people. I'm an introvert. I love being with people but in moderation and if I'm being honest, I didn't think I needed people really. Turns out, even us introverts need people!!! Being cut off from others, as good as video chats are, it doesn't replace actually being with people. I have realized even more how precious and valuable "my people" are and how much I love them. Some of my biggest blessings this year have been in regard to people. Speaking of people, look at this photo!!! These are the families and people who have let me into their lives this year. I did four sessions before July and only one after February!! I lost half the year and I still got to work with all of these amazing people!!! Their trust in me is priceless and I've enjoyed connecting with my clients in a new way this year. Perspective is one of the gifts 2020 has given me. I look at these faces and I am encouraged. They make me smile and they made this year better.
Below are some of my memories of the year. Friends, family, fun events. Let it be an example of taking the photos, even when they aren't perfect. You'll cherish the memories. What do you reflect on for this year? What are the good takeaways that will go with you into the future? What made this year better for you?
