The season of life that I'm in is one where a lot of my friends are getting married and starting families. While I do not have children, I have collected some resources that I think are very good for mothers-to-be, expecting moms, and new moms. Phylicia Masonheimer
I did not have a poor view of motherhood before I found Phylicia but her honest and biblical approach to being a wife, mother, and woman have been huge in forming how I look at motherhood. She also shares her favorite resources when it comes to preparing for your baby and she has a great book all about praying over your pregnancy. I haven't used it for myself but I am confident that it is excellent because everything else I have seen and used from her is excellent. This book is also going to have a lot of her wisdom on motherhood and its value. I highly recommend following her on Instagram and checking out some of her highlights as well. Grumpy Mom Takes A Holiday I did read this one because I read for research sometimes and I like learning things that can be useful to the people in my life. Again, we have a resource that is challenging the cultural view of motherhood and children. If you want something more for yourself and your kids but you don't know how or where to start, you might want to check out this book. For my in-depth thoughts on this book, click here. Katelyn James You've maybe heard me talk about her as a photographer and educator but she's also a mother and has had FIVE babies! After her fifth baby, she did a podcast episode where she talks about all of her different experiences and she had a lot of them. What I love about this episode is how it offers first-time moms wisdom they have no way of knowing and it gives moms who are looking for something different a place to start. Here it is on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. I will be updating this post as I find new resources that I think are beneficial. For those of you reading this who are moms, what resources do you recommend for younger moms? Please share your wisdom in the comments!

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
