The first year goes so fast and you've captured it in milestone sessions so the last thing we want is to let those precious memories sit on your computer. Many people think that nice photo albums are just for weddings. I'm here to tell you that they are not just for weddings and the first year of your child's life is a great thing to put in an album! Whether you just did a newborn session, had monthly photos taken, or something in between, putting those images in an album lets you have a tangible way to look at the memories. And your child will LOVE looking at it once they get a little older.
If you are doing milestone sessions, you get to literally see your child grow up and see how much they changed from session to session. Let's say you did photos every four months. That's four sessions worth of photos. The newborn session you will have photos of your baby with your family, each of the parents, and with siblings (if you have any older children). The one year session often has cake smash photos. These are in addition to the normal portraits. So you're going to have more images to chose from with your first and last session. Albums are designed in spreads. A spread is two pages next to each other. I don't recommend any less than 10 spreads. You don't want your photos crammed in so close that you can't enjoy them. My recommendation to start with would be to have three spreads (so six pages) for the newborn session and one year session, one spread (two pages) for the four month and eight month sessions, and you'd have two spreads left over if you needed another for any of the sessions. The best part is that you can design and order your album straight from your gallery! Of course, if you would rather just select your favorites and let me do the album design, I am happy to do that for you. Either way, you end up with a high-quality heirloom that you and your child will cherish for years to come! Do you wish you'd gotten albums for your newborns? If you don't have kids yet, does this make you want to get albums for your future children?
