You know when you ask a kid what they want to be when they grow up, and they say things like "fireman", "ballerina", "superhero", and "princess"? And then they get older and maybe start becoming a little more practical but still dreaming? Sometimes kids have pretty wild dream jobs. Sure, there is someone who does the job of setting up the dollhouses in The Henry Ford Museum (yes, I thought that would be a fun job) but probably only one person and that is not their whole job. Are you tracking with me? When I was younger, I had a few ideas of what I might like to do for a job. The two I remember best are occupational therapy or interior design but there were a couple pretty wild ones too :)
A lot of kids want to be an actor or actress when they grow up. It's another common little-kid answer. Not me. I thought it would be fun to be one of the backup dancers. Why? Because I like to dance, for one thing, and you get to work on a lot of different movies but you don't have to be in the limelight. I don't like attention on me so that sounded like fun! My other wild dream job actually came to me as an older teen/young adult. I would watch movies with little kids and babies and think, "I want to be the person who is in charge of taking care of them when they aren't in front of the camera!" Because someone has to, right? I love little kids, so it sounds like a ton of fun to me. The thing that both of these jobs have in common is that they involve being in Hollywood and living in California, both things I have no desire to do. Would they be fun? I think so. But I probably won't ever do either of them, which is what makes them wild dream jobs! Recently I came up with a dream job that is a little more attainable but still highly unlikely and that is owning a bookstore and living above it! I don't really like the idea of living by myself, but it might be okay if it meant I had a bookstore :) What is a wild job that would be a dream job for you? There are no wrong answers! Dream big! I can't wait to read what you come up with.
