Have you ever experienced this? You're somewhere and something comes up in conversation or you see something. It gets filed away but not really thought about. A few weeks later, it comes up again. Then a few weeks after that and again after that. It's showing up different places you go and with different friends. Can you relate? I've never been good at memorizing Bible verses, but this one I have memorized simply because it KEEPS. SHOWING. UP!!!
Luke 19:10 says, "for the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." That is the "theme verse" if you will, for my young adult group, SOZO. Sozo is the Greek word in the verse for "to save" and that's part of their mission (I won't go into all that here). The point is, I would hear that verse occasionally there but it wasn't really sticking. Then, I started a new Sunday School class at church and this verse is talked about (or at least mentioned) almost every week! Woah! Okay, God, what are you trying to tell me? It's shown up other places - in books I'm reading, videos of speakers, just random places where it wouldn't probably register to me except that it's become so prevalent in my life. When something like this happens, I try to pay closer attention because I assume that God is trying to tell me something or prepare me for something. I don't know what that is yet, but I'm still keeping my heart and mind open. If you've experienced something like this before, what was it about and what happened? I'd love to hear about it!
