Whether it is her first baby or her fifth, moms can use help when they bring a new little one home. I would almost argue that they can use more help the more kids they already have but no matter what, you can be a blessing to that mother with a brand new baby. A very obvious way to bless a new mom is to bring her a meal (or two or three!). Not having to worry about dinner for a few weeks is a huge benefit to her. I think a lot of people know this idea and do it very well but there are more ways you can help!
Clean her house. I think this idea is the most delicate. You probably would only offer this to someone you were personal friends with, as opposed to just an acquaintance or woman you knew through church. However, offering to vacuum and/or mop might be welcome and is not quite as personal as, say, cleaning a bathroom or doing laundry. Go grocery shopping for her. I know that grocery pickup is a big thing these days, but maybe you pickup her groceries for her if that is how she shops. Then she does not have to go out and bundle up the baby (and possibly other kids). Watch her kids. My mom once went to the house of a friend who had a newborn and just sat with the baby while the mother took a nap. If it's nice out, you could take the kids to the park or just play outside with them while the mom did things or slept. If you're at her house anyway, you could offer to do dishes or laundry for her. These are just a few ideas. I'm sure that you could think of more, especially if you consider the specific situation that mom finds herself in. Maybe you can help get older kids to and from school and other activities. Each mom will have things that she needs that are unique to her, so ask questions and keep your eyes open! Most things she will need will be pretty easy for you to accomplish and will mean the world to her! What have you done for new mothers that you know? Share your ideas in the comments so we can all have more ways to bless these women!
