Being an entrepreneur has a lot of hard things that go along with it, but when I was starting this journey, there were two things that I thought would sink me before I even got started! Aperture was the first roadblock. In simple terms, aperture dictates the size of the hole in your lens, which determines how much light gets in. It also affects how much is in focus in the image (depth of field). The problem was, it was backward!! A bigger hole meant a smaller number and less in focus, while a smaller hole was a bigger number and more in focus. Confused yet? So was I! I didn't know what I was going to do because I didn't think I'd ever get it straightened out but somewhere along the line, I heard it taught another way, and it finally stuck. Unfortunately, I can't remember who said it or how they said it, but I'm very thankful that I was able to finally get it down!
The second "problem" area has to do with mirroring. I've struggled with mirroring things since I was in dance as a girl. I always needed my teacher to do the moves with her back to me so that I went the correct direction or moved the correct arm/leg. Mirroring does not come naturally and while it only takes a moment or two to figure it out, that moment or two can be too long. This becomes a problem because if I tell my client to move their right arm but I was meaning my right, it's actually their left. Then I have to correct them and even thought it's my fault, they now have a little less confidence in themselves. This is something I've been working on for YEARS and I still mess up (so I'm grateful to clients who are so patient with the slips :) but I've found some hacks that help my poor, confused brain! Is there something in your industry or job that has been a struggle to learn? Have you conquered it or are you still learning?
