At one point in time, I thought I wanted to be an interior designer. While that does not seem to be my career calling, I do still love doing it in my own home. I am all about organization and utilizing space wherever I can. If I can keep clutter out of sight and/or store things where I would otherwise not be able to, that's a win in my book. Enter... the storage ottoman. I love the versatility of this one little piece of furniture!!! You already need a stool for your chair or a coffee table for your living room. It will be taking up floor space but it can do double duty if you get a piece that has storage capacity.
The options are endless. You could throw things inside to do a quick "clean up" if necessary, store remotes or other not-so-nice-looking but necessary items. Bigger ottomans and coffee tables can hold blankets and pillows. I know of a family that has a large ottoman and they keep books and toys in there for their kids. Without a storage ottoman/coffee table, you'd never be able to use the space for storage. Now you have a two-for-one of comfort & functionality, your house looks nicer and less cluttered, and you've probably saved money in the long run because you only needed to buy one piece of furniture to do the work of two or more! That sounds like a win in my book! I have a storage ottoman and I LOVE it!!! It's a small cube one but I use it all the time. One thing I like to use it for is clothes that I want to wear again. I don't have a good place for them so I fold them nicely and put them in my ottoman!! I've also stored cold weather gear like a hat or leg warmers in there for easy access. You'll never now how nice they are until you have one. Do you have furniture that does double duty as a storage compartment? Tell others what a blessing it is! What do you store in your "secret" drawers and holes?
