My first introduction to these cuties was in a Pinterest class I took at my co-op way back in 2015!!!! I made one for myself and then proceeded to make them for my grandmothers, friends, and I made a family of snowmen that represented my own family! They are super easy and fun to make! I will note that if you look them up online (like this instruction guide), you will be told to use rice. I used rice in all of the ones I made and some have started to go rancid. Oddly enough, not all of them, but I am remaking the family of five this year using cotton stuffing and rocks. I'm putting the rock in the bottom to help them stand up and then the cotton is the filler. I also have made some without buttons and they are still adorable. The decorating of the snowmen is pretty wide open.
If you try the rock/cotton method, your snowmen will be a little hard to get to stand upright, unless you have rocks with a very flat side. Mine wobble a little, so I may have to find another option. I'm open to suggestions! But whatever you do, these guys are super cute and easy decorations for your Christmas season!
