I didn't take this photo with my senior photos but we did do it for my youngest brother! This is a photo that I have learned through the years is very important to have and now I try to take it at each senior session if it works out! Normally, if a parent is involved in the senior portrait process, it's the mom. Sometimes she's the one who contacts and books me and sometimes she comes along to the session. Dads rarely are at sessions but it always a pleasure to have them if they do come along! Having the parent(s) along is key to getting the important photo.
Seniors, you should be getting a photo with your parent(s)!!!! I love getting photos of boys with their moms and girls with their dads but I've done moms with their daughters as well! Your parents have given so much over your whole life but probably especially through your high school journey. And how many photos do you have with your mom/dad? Typically, as we get older, we stop taking as many pictures with our parents. This is a significant time in both of your lives and it needs to be memorialized with a photo!!! If getting a photo with your mom/dad is important to you (and I hope it is!), make sure you bring them along and tell your photographer that you want to take a picture with your parent! I'm sure they will be happy to do that for you if it's not a part of their process already! Did you take a picture with your parent when you were a senior? Did you wish you had?

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
