I don't know about you, but my mom is extremely difficult to buy for. What do you get for a mom who has intangible hobbies? If you're like me and always scratching your head on what to get for mom, I have a few ideas for you! Quality Time. Carve out intentional time to spend with your mom. Do something you both enjoy or at least something she enjoys :) Let her pick the activity and then make it happen! Even if it's not your favorite thing in the world, it will mean so much to her!
Serve Her. This is a big one for kids. On Mother's Day, you do all the things you can that she normally does! Maybe you already do the laundry and dishes but you could be proactive about it and not wait for her to ask or remind you! Make all the meals and even do some cleaning! You could also gift her a future service like washing and vacuuming her car or another task that needs done once in a while. An Experience. Gift cards for experiences or taking her to an experience are always good ideas. What is her favorite restaurant that she rarely goes to? Would she like an escape room? A mani/pedi? This idea can be incorporated with quality time if you so desire. Things Made By Her Grandkids. If your mom is also a grandmother, there is very little grandmas like more than items made by their grandchildren. My family has gotten our grandmothers shirts with all their grandkids names on them, platters with our handprints, and blankets with the names of the whole family. Groupon, Shutterfly, and Snapfish have all kinds of great products to get you started. Etsy. Ah, the rabbit hole that is Etsy. The things you can get there blow my mind! What I love most is that you can customize so much. Maybe you start with a vague idea of something mom likes and you search for it and you find something you can completely customize for her! I might search for elephants or monkeys for my mom and see what comes up that might spark more ideas! Photos. For years, my mom and aunt got my grandmother updated photos of all the grandkids for Mother's Day. Even though she kind of expected it eventually, she always loved them! Whether is prints or a product of some kind that involves photos, mothers of all ages love new photos of their loved ones. I've had clients purchase family session gift certificates to give to their moms so that they could have updated photos of the whole family! Experience, quality time, and photos all in one! And photos last much longer than other physical items. What is something you've gotten for your mother? Share your unique ideas with us and we can all find new gifts for our moms!

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you!
