I don't know about you, but customer service can make or break an experience for me. The businesses that are hard to get a hold of or won't take the effort to fix a problem, those aren't places I want to interact with again. On the flip side, the places with great customer service mean that I'm willing to forgive and overlook a lot that I might otherwise not be willing to deal with. Anyone else? So let’s talk customer service.
I am astonished at how poor so many company’s customer service is!!! Most of the time this manifests itself in a disrespect for their clients’ time but not communicating well is also poor customer service! We used to have a dentist office that did not communicate things to us and I felt like they just didn't care very much about their patients. A friend needed to have a company come out to their house and the best time table they were given was a huge span of time! Most people work and can't spend all day at home waiting on a company to show up!! I was very frustrated for them and at the fact that this is not a rare occurrence. Why do we put up with poor customer service? Do we think that’s just the way things are? All companies are like that so we just have to deal with it? Or maybe you’re getting such a great deal and saving so much money that you’ll put up with a lot! I’m all about deals and saving money but there has to be a balance between savings and good customer service. I am willing to pay a bit more to know that I’ll be treated well and have my problems handled than to just save some dollars. Customer service is so important and it’s one of my top priorities for my own business. My clients’ questions and (hopefully not) problems are of utmost importance to me. Quick, clear communication is a must. I want to be the kind of business I want to work with. I want to share two businesses that I've had such great experiences with: my lab, White House Custom Colour, and Apple. They are easy to get in touch with, friendly, helpful, and prompt. Every time I've needed something, it has been a breeze to get it handled. I cannot say enough good things about the service I've received. And I will say, the experience I've had with their customer service DOES make me overlook some things that are not my favorite and I wish were different but I am happy to deal with them because I know that if I have any problems, I will get quick, efficient help.
