My whole life runs out of my bedroom. With the exception of things I'm storing, anything I use on a regular basis is in this one room. It's a constant struggle to keep things organized and clean. The way it usually works is that things pile up until I'm fed up and then I do some moving around and putting into drawers so that it has the appearance of clean. I've made that option less available with my work from yesterday. I was thinking just the other day that I never make birthday cards anymore for people. The reason was because I can't use my stuff!!! That realization, combined with my new goal to work towards minimalism, prompted me to clean out my closet and get rid of my desk. Tuesdays are lighter for me, so I took the day and set to my task.
I think I started about 10:00 am, took a break for lunch and library from 12-2 and was mostly done by dinner at about 5. I still have some boxes and a few items on my floor, but my room looks and feels so much bigger!!! There is now a need for my file cube and it sits by my nightstand, along with my tripod and camera bag. That takes up the wall space where my desk was. I got rid of a ton of craft stuff (I still probably have too much), and I cleaned out my closet enough to put all my desk stuff in there. The one dilemma is my books. I am constantly rearranging to find more room for books. Above my closets is about a three foot space of wall from ceiling to closet. I'm going to put a long board up there to solve my shelf space for at least a little while :) #bookloversproblems #firstworldproblems I actually really enjoy cleaning and organizing. I can't really say why, but I love the results and even the process is fun for me. What I'm so excited for is how my new room is going to help me run my business even more efficiently and improve my days overall!!!! What about you? Do you enjoy organizing? Are you a minimalist or working toward it? What are your favorite cleaning and organizing tips and tricks? Tell me all about it in the comments below!
