It's been a few years since the Kendrick Brothers made a movie and they came back with a surprising departure from their normal fare - a documentary. We learned about their heart for fathers and fatherhood in the movie Courageous and they cement that commitment with this new movie. One of the things I love about the movies the Kendrick Brothers make is their strong commitment to families. They tell stories that are powerful. Stories can show us things in our own lives that we might not otherwise see. The Kendrick Brothers also understand that families need strong fathers.
"Show Me The Father" is a documentary that shows the impact of good fathers and the problems of not having a father. There are stories of God redeeming fatherlessness in mighty ways and it is so encouraging to see stories where father-figures stepped in to make a difference in a child's life. Each story is contrasted against the perfect love of our perfect Father. The emphasis is clear - our earthly fathers, even the good ones, are not perfect and will make mistakes. But no matter what our experience has been with our earthly fathers, we can find all we need in our Heavenly Father. Obviously, this movies is geared toward fathers, but it's a powerful and encouraging movie for anyone to see. Also, the fathers that we know need our encouragement and support. We need to know what their aims and goals are so we can help them along as they strive to lead their families. Have you seen "Show Me The Father" yet? Do you think you'll go see it?
