A local church in my area does an outreach project every Christmas called Christmas Basket Blessings. My family has participated for many years now and it is a really neat experience to be a part of. The church purchases gift cards from local grocery stores and then people use the cards to buy groceries and bring them back in boxes and baskets. Then, on a Saturday morning in December, people come to the church and can receive a basket of food, a ham, and some rolls. There are church members there to pray with anyone who may want prayer and the church's bell choir plays Christmas carols. The people are so grateful and kind. It's actually a really fun experience for the volunteers too. Seeing a community come together to help others is always amazing.
If you or someone you know need a little extra help this Christmas, come to Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church (14175 Farmington Rd) on December 21st from 9:30-12. The baskets go fast and it is first come, first serve, so coming earlier is best. I know there are lots of ways to give back to our communities this time of year. Is there something you and your family always do as a tradition? Does your community have a unique service opportunity?

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
