I have started a new section of my client experience and overall workflow process that we're going to unpack today. This is the first section of any client gallery and it is called "Sarah's Favorites". What is that and why is it important? When a client receives their gallery, the very first section is called "Sarah's Favorites". These are the best of the best images. They are taken from each part of your session and are the photos that I blog and would use to create photo cards, prints, albums, and canvases. They are the best representation of your session and they are the ones that are fully edited.
Wait? What?! You don't edit all the photos you deliver? Yes, I do. All the photos I deliver are edited to my style and are beautiful, BUT, some photos have tiny imperfections that would take WAY too long to edit out in every. single. image. Photos in the "Sarah's Favorites" folder will have imperfections edited out. The best of the best deserve the full treatment after all!! Practically speaking, what does this look like? I often have several really good images that are quite similar but there is a cute smile here or a soft touch there and I want to keep them all. I will only blog one of them and let's say that the son had a scratch on his cheek. Any and all photos that I blog and the scratch would be visible, I will remove it. But if I'm blogging one out of three photos, the other two won't have the scratch removed. This is what I mean by "fully edited". It's not that the whole gallery isn't edited, but that some photos have extra edits done to them. What if my favorites aren't your favorites? It happens, on occasion, that a client absolutely falls in love with a few of the photos that were not included in the "Favorites" folder. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, I do offer additional retouching of a few photos for a fee. I want you to have the photos that you love to display in your home!!! Do you have questions about gallery delivery or how the edit process works? Leave them in the comments below and I'll be happy to answer them!

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
