It's an easy element of your outfit to overlook but it can make a huge difference! I'm talking about shoes! You spend a lot of time and put a lot of thought into your outfit for your session and I would hate for your shoes to distract because we didn't remember to put thought into them as well!! There are so many things to think about when it comes to planning a photo session. I want to help make your preparations easier! So let's talk about shoes. I have just a few tips for you to consider when choosing footwear.
2. Terrain. Where is your session located? Are you doing an urban setting or a meadow? Your location will determine if you want heels or flats or at least least the size of your heels. 3. Color. The color of your shoes will depend on your outfit, but also on the season. Tans and whites are more spring and summery, while browns and grays are more fall and wintery. I recommend going with a neutral or light color when you can, because what we are going for is to NOT distract from your outfit. You'll notice that the examples I'm showing you are on the dressy side. I encourage people to dress up a bit for their photos because these are works of art for your home. If you don't have something that will work or the style of your session just doesn't fit dressier shoes, then make sure your shoes are clean and simple. What About Men And Kids? Men have it much simpler than women when it comes to shoe choices. They usually have a pair of dress shoes in black or brown and that's that! When it comes to kiddos, they may or may not have dress shoes or getting them to wear said dress shoes might not be a battle you want to fight. As best as you can, avoid bright colors, light up shoes, and characters. Aim for the simplest pair of shoes they own. But at the end of the day, Mama, don't stress about it. If the only way your kid is going to get through the session happily is to let them wear their Paw Patrol or Disney Princess light up shoes, let them. It's a season and it reflects your kid's personality. It will be okay.
