I meant to post a beginning of December update. Here we are on December 19th and I'm just now getting to it. Oh well. Better late than never! It occurred to me that it seems rather odd to be doing beginning of the month previews instead of end of the month wrap ups. While it's something I'm working on, I've always been an anticipator. I'm always looking ahead to the next exciting thing, so a post about what's coming up fits me. Since we are nineteen days into this month, some of the exciting things have already happened!
I got to see Anthem Lights, a band I've been wanting to see for YEARS, for free and ten minutes from my house!!!!!!!!! I could hardly believe it when I found out they were coming. It was an amazing concert and I got autographs and a photo. I'm not your traditional fangirl, but I certainly like them a lot and the whole experience was neat. I hosted a table at my church's Advent by Candlelight women's event. I lead a BRIGHT Lights group for young ladies and we had our own table. It was a very nice evening and the girls did so well. We celebrated Christmas with my dad's mom since she spends Christmas with my uncle and his family. I had my "support group", as we call it, over and we did our Secret Santa exchange and had our regular monthly meeting. It's a group of girls my age who are walking through life together. It's fantastic and I love being a part of it! So what's still coming up? Our regular BRIGHT Lights meeting is going to a gift exchange and cookie decorating!! Yes, we give pre-teen girls lots of sugar in the evening. The moms have okayed it so we do it. My "sibling group" is getting together to play games and I am so excited!! It promises to be an awesome evening. Our church does a Christmas basket giveaway each year and that event is this Saturday. If you or someone you know is in Southeast Michigan and in need of a little extra help this Christmas, we have baskets of food to hand out!!! Send me an email and I'll get you the details. Somehow, I've been type-cast into handling the ham and rolls every year. I'm not quite sure how that happened, but I don't mind. I usually have a handful of elementary girls helping me and we keep it fun. Obviously there is Christmas!!!!! I'll be writing about our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day traditions in another post. As soon as Christmas is over, I'm gearing up for my friend's wedding that I am photographing (ahhhhhhhhhh!). I keep telling myself that it'll be great and I know what I'm doing, but it's only my second wedding. The last thing is that my new goddaughter is probably going to be born this month!!!! I won't get to meet her until summer (most likely), but I'm so excited for her to be here and I'll get to see her through the amazing technology that exists! What do you think? Is that enough going on? We have two other Christmases thrown in the mix with some friends and all in all, it's a fun, though busy, time of year. Tell me about your December!! What do you have going on?
