Back in October, I purchased my third Katelyn James course. I have loved following her and learning from her and she has made such an impact on my business. This new course, her Business Collection, just might have the greatest impact yet! I remember when she was opening up the KJ Business Journey. She was inviting photographers to go on a year-long journey to transform their business. I REALLY wanted to do it but just could not justify the money at the time. I hoped she would open it up again in the future and sadly walked away.
Then at the beginning of October, I heard she was releasing a brand-new webinar! Yes! Once again, I was disappointed because I couldn't do ANY of the time slots. I just couldn't make it work. She'd do it again, right? Thankfully, she opened up a time slot I could make work and I got to be introduced to the concepts she teaches in the Business Collection. I'm not ashamed to say that I basically want to buy just about anything Katelyn does. She's an amazing teacher and I just love her! But the courses are expensive so I can't have them all. This one I knew, I KNEW, would be impactful and so I got it. I'm not very far in and I already am formulating changes I can make to the client experience so that you feel like a part of the SJP Family. I am working to create a #sjpexperience that makes you feel welcomed and relaxed! Katelyn talks about this, but people might wonder, "isn't a client experience based business a lot of time and work?". Yes, it is. But I am convinced that it is the best way to go. And you know what else? A new business that is trying to grow doesn't have a ton of money. I can't advertise like someone who has been around for ten years. I don't have the budget of a big studio. But that's okay because I'm doing something different. I'm reaching out to people who place a high value on photography and really WANT to work with me. I love meeting my families and my seniors and getting to know them! I get so excited sometimes that my words get mixed up because I talk too fast :) I know that I love being a part of a group, a tribe, and I see what other photographers like Katelyn have done and I know I want to do that too. On the days when it does seem like a lot of effort, I picture ten years down the road when my clients are at my house with their kids and a we are all friends doing life together. That vision is beautiful and it helps me keep going with this kind of business experience. I'm curious, what kind of tribes are you a part of? What businesses or products can you not stop talking about? What do you anxiously wait for the next version to be released? I'm realizing that we belong to more tribes than we maybe think!
