Well, February was not as great as January but it was still mostly good. I'm mad that it decided to be spring in FEBRUARY! I need winter in my birthday month! It's been way too warm and one day I even heard birds chirping! I hosted a Galentine's party and it was wonderful. God brought together the perfect group and we had so much fun. Lots of laughter, good conversation, and I know I left feeling very refreshed and filled.
That same weekend we had friends over for my brother's birthday and a friend of mine hosted her own girls' day! It was a lot for one weekend but I made it through and it was all good. I got to see ice sculptures at the Plymouth Ice Festival, which I've never been to. I did SO. MUCH. BAKING this month! Cookies and truffles for my party, peach muffins and poke cake for Mark's birthday, chocolate cheesecake for when we had some family friends over... and it was all within about 10 days. I had to take a break from baking, which is not something I thought I'd ever say! Plus, we've just had a lot of sugar and we need to start easing off. Someone in our family was sick almost half the month. Mom and one brother got it first. A week later, the other brother and I got it. Other highlights were seeing my friend Liesl do her last debate, going to my cousin's basketball game, lunch with Liesl, and my valentines from the little boy I watch. Spring Training started but I'm at a crossroads with baseball. Miguel Cabrera is retiring this year and so much is changing that I don't know if it's even the game I love anymore. I can't quite imagine my life without baseball but it's not the same as what I grew up with and I'm not sure I want to change with it. You'd better believe I'm paying attention to this last year with Miggy, though. And we have one of my favorite pitchers back! Because of sickness, celebrating my birthday was much more chill. The plans I had made were postponed but they are still going to happen! I did get to relax, read, play games, and talk to some friends on the phone! So it was still good, even though I wasn't feeling 100%. Lastly, I finished my journal of almost three years. Finishing journals is always a little bittersweet for me. I'm excited to start a new one (gotta love all those fresh pages!) but it's sort of sad because it's like closing a chapter on part of my life. I'm probably overthinking things :) Does anyone else journal and know what I'm talking about?
