I used to laugh at my friend who knew the birthdays of her neighbor's cousins' friends. Okay, maybe she didn't know that, but it seemed like she knew the birthdays of everyone and many of their friends and relatives. She collected dates.
My collection started with my family and friends and has expanded from there. I'm a collector of dates.

Everyone has their "must-have" traditions. While I know that ultimately we don't actually "need" any of it, our traditions are fun and make the season special. There are some traditions that have fallen by the wayside as we've gotten older, but some I want to continue doing forever!
Here are the things that I look forward to each year when it comes to the Christmas season. Every November I am intentional about looking for blessings and being thankful. I try to find at least one thing each day that I'm grateful for. Some days are easier than others but it is a good exercise. I shared about the first half of the month in this post, if you want to go back and see the beginning.
Every November, I challenge myself to find at least one thing each day that I am thankful for. I'm practicing looking for blessings and gifts in even the smallest of places. It's stretching and humbling and I would like to make it a year-long habit, eventually. We're halfway through the month, so I am sharing what I have so far.
"How did this tradition get started, you ask? Let me tell you... I don't know".
That may be my favorite line from Fiddler On The Roof but it reveals something important about how we view and participate in traditions. What role do traditions play in our lives and how much power should we give them over us? We are entering a season that is saturated with traditions and I think it is a good idea to take a deep dive into what we do and why we do it. Tomorrow is National Random Acts Of Kindness Day so I'm giving you some ideas of things to do to celebrate! Of course, we can do random acts of kindness anytime, so I'll also be giving you ideas that you can do throughout the year.
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!!!! Yes, as a single girl, I can still say that Valentine's Day is happy :) I would challenge you to reframe V-Day to be a celebration of more than just romantic love. We love our family and our friends, and most importantly, God loves us. Those are all loves worth celebrating!
I am ready to be done with 2021! This year flew by but at the same time, there are things that happened just this year that seem like it should have been at least one year ago, if not more. I'm coming to realize just how funny a thing time is. This is my personal recap of the year that was 2021. Want to see my recap for the business? Just click here!
While Christmas is over, you may still have one or two holiday parties left and odds are, you have participated or will participate in a Secret Santa exchange this season. I've have done SS for many years and while it is very fun, it can be challenging to pick out gifts sometimes. This year, I heard a fabulous new idea: themed Secret Santa exchanges!
Wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas!!! May you know Christ's love in a new way this season and keep His presence in the center of all your celebrations.
