This year, I participated in Shoot & Share's photo contest for the first time ever and it was really a neat experience. There are several things I really like about how it's run and I learned some things for myself and my own photography from participating. There were even some surprises!

When you look at a powerful painting or picture, it makes you feel something. It might be something you can't really put words to, but there is a stirring in your heart and you are moved.
I am friends with several wedding photographers, and for some reason, the photos that stir the most emotion for me from their work are the ones in B&W. When I was editing my friend's wedding, I had to restrain myself from make too much B&W. I kept wondering what it was about no color that had such a powerful pull on me. We are 1/4th through the year! How has it been going for you?
I am having a much more productive year than the last previous couple of years. It took some time to figure out what I was doing, how to do it, and then garner the courage to actually attempt it. It is April Fool's Day, also known in my world as don't-trust-anything-your-friends-say Day :) Are you and April Fool's pranker or not? |
Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
