I had a mom contact me about doing just a senior headshot for her son. That's not something I normally do, but she is an old friend of the family and so I said I'd be happy to! While I was there, we were chatting and I was looking at her other kids' senior portraits and she mentioned that none of her kids have been interested in doing the whole "senior session" thing. That got me thinking - why should anyone do a senior session? You get a senior picture from school so why spend the money and time to do extra pictures?
To each his own, but I'm going to give you a few reasons why I think senior sessions are an important part of the graduation experience and I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter!

You invested in a professional photographer and have gorgeous images! That's awesome! And while I totally support sharing on Facebook and Instagram, do we really only want these photos to live on a screen forever?
Onward to the third month of 2020!
March is an interesting month for me. My birthday was the month before and the next month has Easter and spring, but March... March isn't quite sure what it's doing most of the time. It's still generally too cold to do any sessions outside but if it does warm up for a bit, it's usually raining. We'll just wait a little longer to start doing photos outside again :) |
Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
